The Story Behind the Name
The cat who sat a little differently. And gave us our name.
Some of the best ideas arrive when you are not looking for them.
I had been thinking about launching a spirit brand for a while. Not just any gin, but something genuinely different. A brand built around art, around individuality, around the idea that no two things should ever be exactly the same. A bottle worth keeping, worth displaying, worth refilling rather than throwing away. Every bottle a piece of art in its own right. The concept was there. The passion was there. But I kept putting it off.
Then one Sunday, somewhere between the roast potatoes and the gravy, Tiger walked in. Sat down. And gave me the look.
She has always sat like this. Ever since she was a kitten. A little different, a little crooked, completely her own way of doing things. Staring at me, waiting for her food, not a care in the world about how she looked or what anyone thought.
And in that moment it was obvious.
Crooked Stance.
Not forced. Not manufactured. Just a cat doing her thing and a name that suddenly made complete sense. A brand built on the idea that standing a little differently is not a flaw, it is a strength. That no two bottles should ever be the same. That doing things your own way is always worth it.
Tiger has never tried to fit in. Neither will we.
